A few words about American Gangster

A few days back we had gone to see American Gangster. I really liked the movie. though it was about the underworld and the real-life character played be Denzel Washington is a ruthless Gangster, unscrupulous to the core of his existance yet there was a heart in it. The amazing acting skills of Washington are just reaffirmed. Russel Crowe is also extremely good. The beauty of the whole flick is that the story is told in a gripping manner even when the narration moves from the good to the bad. Both the actors and the director has done a very constrained yet highly taunt job. The intensity of the story never decreases through out the whole movie. The editing is also done very well. I wonder as to how long it is going to take Indian filmmakers to do such agood job. I should not deny that there have some good attempts in the near past like Mithya, Company, Sarkar, Sathya etc. but yet there is still something missing in our films. Maybe actors like aamir khan can bring in their intensity to the Indian Gangster films. Any way till then we have Denzel Washington. One of my favourite actors. Good work Mr. Washington, keep it up.
